Holme Is Top Of The Class!!

Team CarSafe’s Mark Holme had a successful weekend at the annual Silverstone Classic weekend, held on the famous Northamptonshire Grand Prix Circuit.

Despite being up against five other Austin Healey 3000’s in the RAC Historic Tourist Trophy for Pre ‘63 GT Cars, he was still on class pole and ninth quickest overall.

After a few laps in fifth overall from the start, he settled in sixth and saw his immediate five second lead over Joe Wilmott’s Healey just grow and grow.

His class rivals were all at least a lap down, which left him with a   huge and growing advantage to seal his victory. “It was incident free and I just did what I had to,” he said.

He qualified on class pole again for the International Trophy for Classic Pre ‘66 GT cars too, which lined him up 43rd on the massive 65 car grid.

On the opening lap he was already three seconds up on the similar cars of Muirhead and Nyblaues, a class lead which continued to grow as he crept up the overall leaderboard too.

His rivals made their stop on lap 11, with Holme following a lap later. But immediately after rejoining his already dominant class lead was up to 53 seconds.

He continued to make overall progress too, taking the flag in 27th, with a class win by a 1min18secs.

“The car was just great, thanks to Ebbs Motorsport. I stayed out of trouble and enjoyed mixing it with all the other classes too. I just made as much progress as I could and it was a brilliant weekend,” he concluded.
